Princess Catherine just made her first royal outing of the year—and this one hits pretty close to home.

Earlier today, Kate Middleton paid a visit to The Royal Marsden, which happens to be the same cancer treatment center where she received her chemotherapy treatments following her cancer diagnosis. She was all smiles as she appeared in a monochromatic ensemble, featuring a burgundy turtleneck top and a matching A-line skirt. And during her visit, Middleton sat with several patients who are currently undergoing treatment.

Per Hello! magazine, the 43-year-old royal is set the join her husband as the hospital's patron, and she was thrilled to break the news in person. Though I could go on about her gorgeous wavy hair and her standout fashion look, I just can't get over the princess's body language during her visit, because it spoke volumes.

For one, I noticed that the princess looked confident and completely at ease as she participated in group discussions and spoke with the patients one-on-one. There were a lot of genuine smiles and open-palmed gestures as she interacted with people, indicating that she was very relaxed, approachable and genuinely happy to be there.

Also, the royal displayed great eye contact and was quick to lean in as she conversed with several patients, which are both signs of active listening and communication. It also shows that the princess has an authentic rapport with the patients.

It's also worth noting that Middleton sought genuine connection and truly empathized with each patient. She didn't shy away from shaking hands or gently touching the arms of people she met, which shows an increased level of openness and trust. For instance, in one snap, Middleton speaks with a patient named Rebecca while holding her arm.

In another photo, the future queen gently places a hand on the knee of another cancer patient named Katherine, who's sporting the biggest smile as she chats with the royal.

Middleton's latest solo appearance comes just a few days after Kensington Palace released a stunning new birthday portrait of the princess, photographed by Matt Porteus. Her husband, Prince William, shared a personal tribute that read, "To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W."

Looks like 2025 is already off to a beautiful start for the royal.
