First, Kate Middleton wore a chic monochrome outfit that’s perfect for winter. And now, she’s done it again with a new head-turning ensemble that has two special meanings.

Today, the Princess of Wales, 41, stepped out for a solo outing to celebrate the opening of the Children’s Day Surgery Unit at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Princess Catherine wore a monochrome navy-blue suit that held a special meaning because it was made by her wedding dress designer, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. She accessorized with a matching crewneck sweater, a black belt, Princess Diana’s sapphire jewelry and her go-to suede Gianvito 105 pumps ($820) by Gianvito Rossi.

The Princess of Wales also paid tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, with the color of the suit. As Glamour points out, Princess Catherine's blazer bears a striking resemblance to one that Princess Diana wore in 1991. (Blue was one of Diana’s favorite colors.)

Princess Catherine has been a royal patron of Evelina London since 2018. The hospital cares for around 104,000 children each year, and it specializes in treating rare conditions. Thanks to the new facility, it can now accommodate 2,300 additional patients per year.

During her outing, the Princess of Wales toured the Children’s Day Surgery Unit, which is filled with new state-of-the-art equipment. The tour was designed to mimic what a child would see on the day of his/her surgery.

Keep the monochrome outfits coming, Princess Catherine.
