‘Wicked’ Stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Discuss That Deleted Jonathan Bailey Scene

As a fan of Bridgerton, I first fell in love with Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton. Since then, the 36-year-old actor went on to appear in the wildly popular Wicked movie adaptation, where he further solidified his role as a heartthrob by portraying Fiyero. Bailey previously revealed that he took a NSFW photo of himself on set, but (unfortunately) it’s for his eyes only—just like his shirtless deleted scene. 

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande confirmed that Bailey filmed a shirtless scene that was ultimately deleted from the film. When asked why it didn’t make the final cut, the actresses encouraged fans to wait for Part Two.

“You don’t need it yet,” Erivo said. “Listen, just wait. Patience. Things come to those who wait.”

Grande admitted that there are more opportunities in Part Two, adding, “Maybe it will work its way into ‘For Good.’ Maybe during ‘For Good’ when we’re singing the most important ballad of our lives, it’ll just be a montage of Jonathan Bailey shirtless.”

Even director Jon M. Chu confirmed that a shirtless cameo in Part Two is a total possibility. “You never know what’s going to happen in the future, but for right now, it has to stay in the vault,” he said.
