John Krasinski Is Hosting (& DJing) a Virtual Prom for the Class of 2020

Just when we thought the 2019/2020 academic year would be a total bust, Jim Halpert—er, we mean—John Krasinski swooped in to save the day.

The Office alum, 40, just announced that he’s throwing a virtual prom for students who are missing the high school dance due to the coronavirus pandemic. The get-together will take place tonight, April 17, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, and yes, we’ve already canceled our hot date with Netflix.

Krasinsinki will host the virtual prom on his YouTube web series, Some Good News (SGN), where he’ll not only act as emcee, but he’ll also serve as DJ. The actor announced the exciting news via a fun TikTok video and even made a special invite, so attendees can add it to their calendar.

He captioned the post, “That’s right class of 2020 I’m DJing your prom with some friends this Friday night 8EST/5PST!! Click link in bio for invitation! See you then!”

Krasinski also shared the news with fans on Twitter, writing, “OK OK… so one of our favorite segments on @somegoodnews is ‘What’d I miss?’ And I just can’t take it anymore how much all you guys are missing prom. So, let’s do something about it! Let’s have an #SGNprom!! Yup, I’ll DJ with some friends live on YouTube.”

And the honorary “Prom King” award goes to…
