A well-executed tablescape is the conversation starter every holiday event needs. Lucky for us, Joanna Gaines just shared her go-to tips on her Magnolia blog for creating one that’ll wow even the Scroogiest of guests.
The mom of five wrote, “There are two things that I think truly welcome the season of entertaining: good food and a set dining table,” and we’d have to agree.
When Gaines sets her own family table for the holidays, she starts off with a clean slate and adds layers of different materials like wooden chargers, ceramic dishwear, vintage glass stemwear, soft table linens and metallic flourishes.
This year, the Fixer Upper star added a modern touch to her farmhouse-chic signature style with copper candleholders of varying heights. She says she also loves to use fresh greenery as an accent, but faux greens have more longevity. Real or not, Gaines says foliage will “add movement and color across the table.”
