The 2025 Golden Globes took place last night, and much to my surprise, Nikki Glaser’s hilarious opening monologue wasn’t the most talked about moment of the night. From Demi Moore’s first-ever acting award (and the powerful speech that followed) to Pamela Anderson’s “makeup-free” look, the ceremony was filled with memorable takeaways.

Baby Reindeer star Jessica Gunning will always remember her 2025 Golden Globes experience, especially since she had a near mishap while accepting the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television. When she approached the microphone, the 38-year-old actress adjusted her dress and admitted that she almost had a wardrobe malfunction during her walk to the stage.

“Wow, hello, I almost tripped up,” Gunning said. “You nearly saw my Golden Globes then.”

The actress proceeded to deliver a powerful speech where she admitted that Baby Reindeer has changed her life. Gunning explained that her life motto is “I can’t believe this is happening to me.” It originated when she was eight years old, when her parents got her a hamster for Christmas.

“I’ve got a very Yorkshire accent. And I just kept saying, ‘I can’t believe this is happening to me. I can’t believe this is happening to me,’” she said. “And I realized this morning that that has been a kind of soundtrack for my life for this last year since Baby Reindeer came out. I cannot believe any of this is happening to me.”

Gunning went on to thank her family, her friends and, of course, Baby Reindeer creator and star Richard Gadd. “[It] has changed my life in ways that I can’t even explain, so thank you for everything,” she added. “I can’t believe this is happening, and I know the 8-year-old me wouldn’t either. She’d be absolutely chuffed to bits.”

What a great speech.
