It’s a ‘Modern Family’ Reunion! Jesse Tyler Ferguson Posts Photos from a Run-in with His ‘TV Nephew’

There's nothing we love quite like an unexpected reunion between former co-stars, and it looks like one occurred on the streets of NYC just earlier this week. In a new Instagram post, Jesse Tyler Ferguson (who played Mitchell Pritchett on Modern Family) revealed that he ran into his “TV nephew,” Nolan Gould (AKA Luke Dunphy).

Both starred together on Modern Family from 2009 to 2020, and while they may miss their time together on the hit ABC sitcom, they recently got to catch up when they bumped into each other. Ferguson documented the moment on his Instagram with a series of pics, and he wrote, “Ran into my tv nephew @nolangould on the streets of nyc after not seeing him for over two years! Just like real family he didn’t call to tell me he was in town [smirk emoji].”

The slideshow starts with a snap of Gould's surprised face as he runs into Ferguson, and this is followed by a shot of the two hugging. In next snap, the pair are seen chatting, and then the final three photos see them standing with their arms wrapped around each other as they smile for pics.

Fans showed their love for the unexpected reunion in the comments, like one person who said, “This is lovely. So heart warming.” For another follower, seeing the photo made them miss the duo's comedy series, and they wrote, “You all should do a reunion like Friends.”

This isn't the first time we've seen Modern Family cast members get together since the end of the show. Last summer, Sofía Vergara and her husband, Joe Manganiello, had a picnic with a couple of Vergara's former co-stars, including Ferguson and Sarah Hyland.

We could definitely use a Modern Family reunion special.
