Jennifer Lopez Posts Birthday Tribute to Her Twins on IG (and They’re Growing Up So Fast)

Jennifer Lopez, 54, rarely shares photos or videos of her twins Emme and Max (who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony) on social media. But the singer and dancer made an exception for their 16th birthday when she surprised the teens with a trip to Japan. 

On February 22, Lopez posted the birthday montage on her Instagram account. Set to the tune of J.Lo’s song “Hummingbird,” the clip starts with The Mother star (who’s filming behind the camera) marveling at how thrilled her son Max is for the trip. “I’ve never seen Max so excited,” she says, to which Emme responds, “I’ve never seen myself so excited.”

Then, viewers are given a rare glimpse into the twins’ birthday trip, which shows the duo posing in an anime store, enjoying a meal at a Japanese restaurant and visiting an immersive art museum. One clip shows Lopez with Emme and Max, who look so grown up, donning traditional Japanese garments while participating in a tea ceremony. 

At the end of the video, a special message written by Lopez flashes across the screen, which reads, “Happy birthday to my coconuts. I love you.” The Shotgun Wedding actress wrote in the caption, “16 [coconut emojis] Birthday trip 2024 [white heart emojis].”

In the comments section, Lopez’s followers couldn’t get over how much Emme and Max have grown. One person wrote, “16?! No way. Wow, time flies.” Another supporter noticed the striking resemblance between Max and his dad, writing, “Max is a true copy of his father Marc Anthony! They are identical [shocked face emoji.]” 

Now, this isn’t the first time Lopez has dedicated a bday tribute to her twins online. Back in February 2023, the Marry Me alum shared a heartfelt video of Emme and Max on their 15th birthday. The footage shows the twins throughout the years, from childhood to adolescence.

"Happy birthday to my beautiful, brilliant coconuts,” Lopez wrote in the caption. “I am so proud of you both in every single way. You bring so much joy and happiness to my heart and soul. I love you beyond forever. HAPPY BIRTHDAY."
