It’s no secret that Heidi Klum is the queen of Halloween. (Did you *see* her E.T.-inspired costume?) That didn’t stop Jennifer Lopez from taking it up a notch and proving that the spooky holiday can be celebrated year-round.
Jennifer Lopez Wears See-Through Spider Web Dress (& It’s Way More Stylish Than It Sounds)
It's Halloween chic
This week, the “Jenny from the Block” singer, 55, stepped out in Utah for the premiere of her brand-new musical film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, at Sundance Film Festival. Lopez wore a stunning see-through spider web gown that took me straight back to Halloween.
The sheer dress was designed by Albanian fashion designer Valdrin Sahiti, and it featured two bedazzled webs (one on the shoulder and one on the bodice) that created a sparkly cascading pattern that grew in size as it got further from the center. Oh, and did I mention the gorgeous gown, dubbed the “Vortex 7,” retails for a cool $2,310?
J.Lo completed the look with equally expensive accessories, including a satin black clutch by Tyler Ellis ($3,200) and black heels by Christian Louboutin ($1,795). She styled her hair in a messy updo that featured tousled waves around her face.
The dress was obviously a nod to her latest project, Kiss of the Spider Woman. At the Sundance premiere, Lopez was brought to tears by the audience, who gave her a standing ovation.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” the actress said. “The reason I even wanted to be in this business is because my mom would sit me in front of the TV and [West Side Story] would come on once a year. I was mesmerized and was like, ‘That’s what I want to do.’ This is the first time I actually got to do it. [Director Bill Condon] made my dream come true.”
The jury is still out on whether the audience was applauding J.Lo’s performance or her killer outfit. (Just kidding.)
