J.Lo Enlists Joanna Gaines for a Real-Life Remodel of Her $6.6 Million Mansion

Sorry, Chip Gaines, but Joanna is teaming up with a brand-new partner in crime for her latest project.

The Fixer Upper designer, 40, is joining forces with Jennifer Lopez to remodel the singer’s new oceanfront home in Malibu, which she recently purchased with her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez.

J.Lo announced the news during a recent episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. While discussing the $6.6 million (!) mansion, the “On the Floor” singer revealed that she desperately needed Joanna’s help.

“We actually got a little fixer-upper next to the water and we were like, ‘Oh, we gotta fix this up.’ It’s really a house that needs work,” she said. “I was like, ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing to have her do it for us?’ But she doesn’t do anything outside of Waco. Like, nothing.”

That all changed when the couple’s second anniversary rolled around, and A-Rod surprised her with the video call of a lifetime.

She continued, “And then comes our anniversary…he goes, ‘I want you to go to this meeting with us for the architect for the house.’ And I was like, ‘OK, great.’ And he opens up FaceTime, and it’s Joanna Gaines. And I was like, ‘Are you kidding? Hi!’”

As for the style, J.Lo confirmed that Joanna is incorporating her love for coziness with Rodriguez’s passion for modern design, adding, “He just goes all the way modern. Like stones and woods and, you know, and marbles, and I’m like, ‘Can we have a pillow and a blankie?’”

Although Fixer Upper ended last year, we’ll be crossing our fingers for a J.Lo and A-Rod special. (Hey, you never know.)
