If you’re a sucker for all things true crime, then feast your eyes on Jennifer Lawrence’s latest role.
The 28-year-old actress is set to star in an all-new movie adaptation of Mob Girl, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The movie will be based on the 1992 nonfiction book by Teresa Carpenter, titled Mob Girl: A Woman’s Life in the Underworld, which follows the real-life story of Arlyne Brickman. Lawrence will play the main character, who is famous for betraying the Colombo crime family after becoming a police informant.
Mob Girl takes place in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s and follows Brickman from her early life on the Lower East Side of New York City to her days as a flashy mob wife. However, her life is flipped upside down when she decides to help the FBI take down the infamous Colombo family, ultimately becoming one of the government’s most valuable assets.
