Jennifer Garner is getting her anger out with an axe...but don't worry, there's a good reason for the uncharacteristic aggression. The star, 52, was seen in new photos smashing the front windshield of a van with an axe. So badass.
Jennifer Garner Just Took an Axe to a Car Windshield in Newly Snapped Photos
this is a new side of her
Wearing a dark green sweater and black jeans, Garner—axe in hand—winds up and lets the windshield have it. America's sweetheart hasn't suddenly turned to the dark side, though. It appears the photos were taken on the set of season 2 of AppleTV+'s The Last Thing He Told Me. How do I know this? First of all, the wider shots of the axe moment feature lots of lights, cameras and crew members. Second, Garner posted an Instagram video from the set of the show's second season wearing the same exact outfit and smiling with co-stars Angourie Rice and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
She captioned the cute video, "Well, well, well…look who we found. #TheLastThingHeToldMe Season 2 is in production! 🎥Catch up on The Last Thing He Told Me Season 1 on @appletv!"
In another photo from the shoot, Garner happily chats with a member of the crew while sitting in the driver's seat of a (different) car. That's the Jen we know and love.
Just in case you missed it, The Last Thing He Told Me was renewed for a second season last spring. The first season—based on a book of the same name by Laura Dave (a favorite author of Garner and Reese Witherspoon)—followed a woman named Hannah Hall (played by Garner), who discovers her husband has gone missing. In an effort to uncover the truth behind his disappearance, Hannah teams up with her teenage stepdaughter Bailey (Rice) and together, they set out to find answers.
In a review of season 1, former Assistant Editor of News and Entertainment Karelle McKay wrote, "Mystery show lovers will surely enjoy The Last Thing He Told Me because it has an intriguing storyline. Fans of the original book will also find the show quite satisfying. And Jennifer Garner gives a performance that you will not forget."
While there aren't many details out about the show's sophomore season—including when we'll be able to stream it—this sneak peek of Garner's aggro side has me very excited to see what's in store for Hannah and crew.
