Jennifer Garner loves to share a good throwback to Instagram, and this weekend, she had good reason to, because it was the birthday of her longtime pal, Maria Hess.
The 50-year-old Adam Project actress celebrated Hess by posting a series of throwbacks to her Story, including shots from when the pair first became friends at only 3 years old.
Garner's first photo (included above) shows her and Hess as toddlers, with the 13 Going on 30 actress standing to the left, while her friend stands to the right. There is something outside of the frame that clearly caught their attention, because both of the youngsters are intently looking to the side. However, it's unclear what it was, and it's unclear why they're dressed in formal outfits. “How it started...,” Garner wrote below the black-and-white snap.
The Yes Day star followed this pic with a shot of her and Hess as teenagers, sitting next to each other on a bunk bed.
Following these flashbacks, Garner ended with a more current pic. Over it, she wrote, “How it's going.”
She then added, “From three to fifty—who could ask for more than to grow up with you, @mariahessss? Here's to our next 47 years together, lucky me, I love you so (even if I am late celebrating you) xxxxxx.”
Garner isn't the only one who makes these tributes though. Back in April, when the Juno star celebrated her 50th birthday, Hess made her own post dedicated to her Hollywood friend, which included photos from their many years together.
“Happy birthday @jennifer.garner,” Hess wrote. “Gorgeous human, force of nature, joy-filled goofball, dancer, sister, lover of life, mom, devoted friend, and so much more. From preschool to college, childhood to motherhood, and all that we’ve shared, I am beyond grateful for our friendship. And I cannot believe this milestone birthday is here!!”
She added, “Wishing you the same love and light you give to the world and the joy of T-bear, cinnamon toast, your family’s warmth, dancing on stage, standing ovations, kids’ smiles, and long hugs. Love you!! xx.”
These two are seriously friendship goals.
