Jane Fonda is one of the biggest acting legends of the past few decades, from her roles in ’60s rom-coms like Sunday in New York to her Emmy-nominated work on Grace and Frankie. To honor the 84-year-old phenom, Glamour chose her as the cover star for its May issue, marking the first time in 63 years that Fonda had graced the front of the magazine.
The last time that Fonda was on the cover of Glamour was back in 1959, and the photo from that shoot (shot by Karen Radkai) was actually used as a backdrop in the latest issue. In this new snap by Lauren Dukoff, Fonda wears a pink-and-black gown accessorized with a shiny golden scarf, as styled by Michaela Dosamantes. Fonda's hair was done by Jonathan Hanousek, while David De Leon applied her makeup.
The Monster-in-Law star shared the image to her Instagram, writing, “Trust me, this 22-year-old ‘covergirl’ in 1959 could have never imagined returning to the cover and being much happier at 84!”
