Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes have kept their romantic relationship on the down-low…until now.
Yesterday, the duo made their public debut as a couple when they attended the 2019 Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Although they skipped the red-carpet photo op (*sigh*), Foxx and Holmes posed for photos inside the venue, so we’ll take what we can get.
During the event, Holmes wore a custom Zac Posen gown, which featured 300 yards of hand sewn tulle. (NBD.) Foxx complemented his lady’s look with a classic black suit, sequin panther pin and purple shoes.
The theme of this year’s event was “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” The idea was inspired by Susan Sontag’s essay of the same name, which describes “camp” as “a sensibility that revels in artifice, stylization, theatricalization, irony, playfulness, and exaggeration rather than content.”
Back in 2013, dating rumors started circulating about a potential relationship between the two stars. Although this is their first official event as a couple, it’s not the first time we’ve seen them together.
In January 2018, Holmes and Foxx were spotted at Clive Davis’s annual Pre-Grammy Awards Gala, where they sat side by side, sipped Champagne and visited with their fellow celebrity peers. Although the Dawson’s Creek alum seemingly disappeared when Davis addressed the crowd for his annual speech, we’re just happy to see they’re moving in the right direction.
