Jamie Dornan to Star in New ‘Dr. Death’ TV Series with Alec Baldwin & Christian Slater

It appears Jamie Dornan is hanging up his Christian Grey suit and exchanging it for a crisp white coat.

The 37-year-old actor is set to star in an upcoming TV show based on Wondery’s Dr. Death podcast, according to Deadline. Dornan will play the titular character, Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a Dallas spinal surgeon who became (in)famous for his several botched cases, despite alerts from colleagues.

The series will also star Alec Baldwin (Saturday Night Live) and Christian Slater (Mr. Robot). Baldwin will play Robert Henderson, a traditional neurosurgeon who teams up with Randall Kirby (Slater), a vascular surgeon, to stop Duntsch from operating on any more patients.

Although UCP has the rights to the project, the studio is currently accepting offers from networks and streaming platforms, so let the games begin.

The Dr. Death podcast originally debuted in 2018. It tells the story of Duntsch, who received scrutiny for his negligent patient history. Reports include waking up during surgery, becoming permanently paralyzed and even dying on the table. His actions ultimately dubbed him the disturbing nickname “Dr. Death.”

The news comes just one year after Bravo turned the successful Dirty John podcast into a TV show, starring Connie Britton and Eric Bana.

Unfortunately for Duntsch, Dr. Death is next.
