Will Princess Beatrice’s Wedding Be Broadcast on TV? It Doesn’t Seem Likely

Similar to BBC’s holiday special A Berry Royal Christmas, U.S. viewers might have a hard time watching Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli’s upcoming wedding.

In fact, there are no concrete plans to broadcast the ceremony, not even in the U.K. It all started earlier today when a spokesperson for ITV revealed that the network isn’t doing a live TV special dedicated to the bride and groom. Instead, it will air wedding coverage within scheduled news programming.

“ITV will be reporting on the wedding within our ITV News program,” the rep said, according to Hello! magazine.

We’re not totally surprised by the announcement, since it’s getting increasingly difficult to watch U.K.-related events in the United States. Last month, international viewers were disappointed to learn that A Berry Royal Christmas would only be broadcast in the U.K.

The TV segment featured Prince William and Kate Middleton preparing an on-camera holiday feast to reward charity workers and volunteers, who dedicated their time during Christmas and New Year’s. On the bright side, the A Berry Royal Christmas footage is out there somewhere, whereas the wedding will likely only be documented in pictures.

Princess Beatrice is the oldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Mapelli popped the question in September 2019 during a romantic vacation to Italy.

Guess we’ll have to refresh social media like a maniac to get a first look at the bride’s dress. (Thanks a lot, ITV.)
