If you loved Beanie Feldstein in Booksmart, you should know the 26-year-old actress is set to star in another (probable) blockbuster, How to Build a Girl. From the world premiere to the star-studded cast, here’s everything we know about How to Build a Girl.
Everything We Know About Beanie Feldstein’s New Movie ‘How to Build a Girl’
1. When's The Premiere?
How to Build a Girl already premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, but it will be available to the public beginning May 8. IFC Films will exclusively release the movie digitally and on VOD, so we dare you to come up with an excuse to not watch.
2. What's It About?
The movie is based on the namesake novel by Caitlin Moran, which follows 14-year-old Johanna Morrigan as she navigates her adolescent years. After getting humiliated on national television, Johanna invents an alter-ego, Dolly Wilde, and becomes a partying music journalist by the time she’s 16. Amid all the cigarettes and alcohol, will she become the woman she’s always aspired to be?
3. Who's In It?
How to Build a Girl features an all-star cast, including Beanie Feldstein, Alfie Allen, Paddy Considine, Sarah Solemani, Laurie Kynaston, Jameela Jamil, Tadhg Murphy, Ziggy Heath, Emma Thompson, Chris O’Dowd, Michael Sheen, Lucy Punch, Sharon Horgan, Lily Allen and Bobby Schofield. Yep, we weren’t kidding.
4. Who's Working Behind The Scenes?
Coky Giedroyc (Penny Dreadful) directed the movie, while Moran teamed up with John Niven (Deathrow-mance) to write the screenplay.
5. Is There A Trailer?
Yes, there is. And it proves that Feldstein can mimic an eerily accurate British accent. “Johanna Morrigan is dead. This is the legendary Dolly Wilde,” she says in the clip.
Pleased to meet you, Dolly.
