Hoda Kotb Hung Out with This Famous Olympian on the ‘Today’ Show (and They Accidentally Matched)

We've always known that Hoda Kotb is a big sports fan, especially when it comes to the Olympics. In the past, the TV broadcast journalist has been spotted wearing her best red, white and blue whenever the international sports competition rolls around, and last summer, she was even seen yelling her support to the U.S. women's gymnastics team from the stands.

Now, it looks like Kotb has made friends with another famous Olympian. The TODAY show co-anchor posted a new photo to Instagram, where she's seen interacting with three-time Olympic gold medalist, Shaun White. In the snap, Kotb and White are captured with their arms resting on each other's shoulders, and it looks as if they're about to lean in for a hug. Kotb captioned the pic, “Loved seeing @shaunwhite today xox.”

The two celebs also happened to coordinate their outfits quite well. In the photo, White sports a red and blue Olympic-branded sweat jacket from Polo, along with matching sweatpants. Meanwhile, Kotb wears a large puffer jacket with a blue top half and a red plaid bottom half. The outerwear was stitched with American flags on the sleeve and backside.

Kotb and White got to spend time together when he guest-starred on the TODAY show. Kotb said to the athlete, “Shaun, Congratulations, man...Do you know what you're going to do next?” To which White replied, “You know, I'm spending some time with the family, I started this amazing brand called White Space with my brother, so I'm hoping to still be in the industry through that.” He then laughed and added, “And I think vacation.”

We think he and his girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, deserve a long vacay.
