Earlier this week, news broke about the couple’s latest addition when Kotb called into the Today show while feeding her newborn daughter. The announcement came just two years after they adopted their first child. Although she previously admitted that she wants Haley Joy to have a sister, the TV anchor’s second adoption came as a total surprise.
During the segment, Kotb revealed that she chose the name “Hope” in an attempt to encourage other hopeful mothers. “The name came because there are a lot of women out there who are hoping that their day is coming, too, and I know the feeling of it not happening for a long time,” she said. “My heart is, like, exploding.”
Earlier this week, Kotb shared a photo of her two children on Instagram and thanked fans for their support in the caption.
