Hilarie Burton Reveals a Time Lapse Video of How Her Beautiful Wedding Dress Was Made

ICYMI: Hilarie Burton officially tied the knot with her longtime partner, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Although we spent years thinking they were already married (*sigh*), this sneak peek at the making of her wedding gown was definitely worth the wait.

Yesterday, the 37-year-old actress shared a slideshow of videos on Instagram, featuring a time lapse of fashion designer Carol Hannah making Burton’s gorgeous strapless wedding dress.

The clip documents the beginning-to-end process of how Hannah and her team created the gown. In the caption, Burton explained that she “never wanted a wedding dress,” writing, “I don’t want a white dress and I absolutely don’t want a strapless dress!”

However, the One Tree Hill star was drawn to Hannah’s work, which she stumbled across online.

She continued, “As I consulted with our outstanding stylist and all-around genius advisor @jeanneyangstyle, I kept using Carol’s designs as points of reference. ‘Architectural. Asymmetrical. Not too girly.’ Then one day the lightbulb went off and Jeanne just called Carol directly.”

Although Burton was “nervous” during her first appointment, that all changed when she met the team at Carol Hannah, who expertly crafted a gown that fit all her criteria. They even talked her into getting the opposite of what she had envisioned.

“Carol and her whole team knew what I wanted without me even having to say it. She led me to this dress right away and from the moment I tried it in it was a no brainer,” Burton added. “I had been wrong. I did want a white strapless dress. I wanted THIS one. I cannot thank that group of women enough for holding my hand and bearing with me. The craftsmanship was only trumped by the kindness.”

BRB, watching this time lapse on repeat.
