The 91st annual Academy Awards may not have a host this year, but we’re putting in a vote for Jason Momoa and Helen Mirren as the duo of the night.
The 73-year-old actress and the Aquaman star took the stage to announce the winner for Best Documentary Feature and we couldn’t help but notice a few small (but very important) things. First of all, they matched. Sure, Momoa color coordinated with his wife,Lisa Bonet, but we can’t skip the fact that he and Mirren matched quite nicely.
Momoa sported a dusty-pink tuxedo that had been custom made by the late Karl Lagerfeld, while Mirren donned an A-line Schiaparelli haute couture gown. It’s official, pink is their color.
“It just goes to show, doesn’t it, that these days a Hawaiian god and a very mature English woman can actually wear the same color,”Mirren said. “We can both wear pink!” Perhaps the best part? The scrunchie on Momoa’s right wrist. Yup, the Hawaiian god had a matching velvet scrunchie. And it wasn’t just any scrunchie, it was Fendi.
