Wait, Is Halle Berry's Giant Back Tattoo Fake?

When it comes to permanently marking her body, Halle Berry treads lightly. The John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum actress appeared on Late Night with James Corden on Tuesday and confessed that her huge back tattoo is actually a fake.

The 52-year-old actress debuted the brand-new ink on Instagram just a few months ago. Berry shared a photo of her shirtless back, which featured a massive vine growing along her spine. Oh, and if you look past the tat, you’ll notice that she’s cooking eggs. Multitasking, ladies and gentlemen.

The late night host pulled up the now infamous snap and asked the star, “Is this real and do you usually make eggs in sequins and no top?”

Berry hilariously responded: “The egg? That is a real egg.”

But as it turns out, the tattoo spanning the length of Berry’s back is not.

The actress revealed that she was just "test-driving" the new ink.

“I am starting a new movie in a few months so I’m trying out different tattoos to see what will fit best for my character,” adding, “I’m discovering how long will they last, how much wear will I get out of one, so I know how much it’s all going to cost.”

While we don’t know the movie that Berry is referring to, this fake tat has “backless red-carpet gown” written all over it.
