When it comes to Hollywood couples, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are as cheesy as it gets (in the best way possible).
In honor of their recently announced engagement (finally!), we’re taking a look back at all the moments that led to their super public romance. From how they met to whether Stefani and Shelton have kids, keep reading for everything you need to know about their relationship.
Yup! It’s official.
The duo shared the exciting news on social media on Tuesday, with the pop singer showing off her new ring in a sweet photograph. “@blakeshelton yes please!” Stefani wrote alongside the snap on her personal Instagram account. Shelton shared his own post on Twitter. “Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020... And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!” he captioned the image.
Unfortunately, few details about the proposal (besides the fact that it took place in Oklahoma) are available just yet. But we’ll take what we can get for now.
The couple met on the set of The Voice in 2014 when Stefani replaced Christina Aguilera as a coach during her maternity leave. However, things didn’t turn romantic until 2015 when Shelton finalized his divorce with Miranda Lambert.
All signs point to October 2015 when Stefani and Shelton were spotted showing PDA at Maroon 5’s Halloween party, according to E! News.
Gwen and Blake first walked the red carpet as a couple in February 2016 when they attended Vanity Fair’s Oscar after-party. The “Hollaback Girl” singer wore a sheer red gown by Yanina Couture, while the country crooner opted for a black jacket, jeans and cowboy boots. (Natch.)
Oh, yes. And they aren’t afraid to show it. Last year, Shelton celebrated Stefani’s 50th birthday on Twitter and wrote a mushy tribute that hinted at an impending proposal.
“Happy Birthday @gwenstefani!!!! I love you so much it’s actually stupid… And possibly illegal in the state of California,” it read.
While Shelton doesn’t have any biological kids, the same can’t be said for Stefani. She shares three children with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale: Kingston (14), Zuma (12) and Apollo (6).
Back in April 2019, Stefani turned the world premiere of Ugly Dolls into a family affair when she brought her three sons, along with her famous boyfriend. (Picture above.)
Well, hopefully a wedding in the not-too-distant future.
But before we get ahead of ourselves, we just want these two to enjoy their time as an engaged couple.
