While it’s easy to get distracted by the glitz and glamour at the 2020 Golden Globes, Greta Gerwig just dropped a major bombshell that left us with one burning question: Are we the last to know that she’s engaged to Marriage Story director Noah Baumbach?
Greta Gerwig Just Let it Slip That She’s Engaged to Noah Baumbach
Today, Gerwig attended the 77th annual Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. While speaking with Amy Kaufman—a staff writer at the L.A. Times—the filmmaker, 36, low-key revealed that she’s engaged to her longtime beau and baby daddy, 50.
According to Kaufman, Gerwig let it slip that she and her “fiancé” will sit next to each other during the awards show.
This is the first we’ve heard about a potential engagement, since (as far as we knew) Gerwig and Baumbach were “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” when they welcomed their first child together back in March 2019.
Well, consider us surprised, because the engagement is apparently old news. When Vulture staff writer, Hunter Harris, questioned Kaufman about the couple’s relationship status, the journalist alluded to the fact that everyone already knew this information.
“They’ve been engaged for a while!” Kaufman wrote.
So, did Gerwig and Baumbach purposely hide their engagement? Or have we unknowingly been living under a rock? So. Many. Questions.
