Your Pup Had a *Rough* Week? Crack Open a Good Boy Dog Beer

good boy dog beer

Dog owners know, it’s really bad to give your pup alcohol. Like, really bad. Don’t do it. But what are you supposed to do when Fido gives you that look? (You know, the “it’s been a rough week and I could really use a cold one” one look.) For that, there’s dog beer.

No, we’re not joking.

Good Boy Dog Beer is a canned drinky drink for dogs that’s just like beer (it’s in cans) except that it’s nothing like beer. It’s hop-free, nonalcoholic and flavored like your dog’s favorite snacks. For example, Session Squirrel is veggie-based. There’s also pork, chicken and peanut butter. According to the brand, you can also drink the dog beer, if you’re into that.

In all seriousness, the dog beer came about when creators Megan and Steven Long (who own two Houston bars and a couple pets) started developing their own dog treats for their rottweiler with sensitive stomach and allergies. Aww.

Cans of Good Boy retail at $5 for one or $18 for a pack of four. We’ll know the world is truly ending when they start making chicken beer for humans.
