Time to dig up that dog-eared copy of Catch-22 from your high school days and give yourself a refresher. Why? Because George Clooney’s miniseries based on the classic novel is coming this spring, and this is one show you don’t want to miss.
The Hollywood actor is producing, directing and starring in the six-part Hulu show based on Joseph Heller’s 1961 novel. The miniseries marks Clooney’s return to the small screen as a series regular for the first time since his days as Dr. Doug Ross on ER, so it’s kind of a big deal.
Capturing the absurdity of war, the beloved story follows protagonist Yossarian (Christopher Abbott), a bombardier in World War II, and his commanding officer, Colonel Cathcart (Kyle Chandler). Yossarian grapples with the bureaucratic rule known as catch-22, a paradoxical requirement that makes it nearly impossible to be relieved from duty. Clooney plays war-loving Lieutenant Scheisskopf.
