Ryan Gosling and his wife, Eva Mendes, are notoriously private when it comes to their family—which explains why they've been so careful to keep their daughters out of the spotlight. However, it appears the duo made a rare exception while attending this year's Olympic games.

This weekend, both actors were joined by their daughters, Esmeralda (9) and Amada (8), at the artistic gymnastics women's uneven bars final, marking the family's first public appearance together. Although both of their faces have been blurred to protect their privacy, there's no denying that both girls were deeply invested in the game, just like their parents.

For the occasion, Gosling donned a red plaid shirt and a green Olympics hat, and Mendes sported shades and a navy sleeveless dress. Meanwhile, Amada wore a colorful yellow sundress and Esmeralda, a blue floral sundress with a patriotic sweatshirt.

Additionally, the famous couple was seen attending the equestrian Grand Prix freestyle at the Chateau de Versailles, though their daughters weren't pictured in these sightings. Mendes stunned in a stylish sun hat while Gosling opted for a white Olympics cap.

The happy couple, who tied the knot in 2011, welcomed Esmeralda in 2014 and Amada in 2016. After becoming a mom, Mendes took a step back from acting to focus on her family—and she's been loving every minute of it. In a recent interview with Today, she said, "It was like a no-brainer. I'm so lucky, and I was like, if I can have this time with my children—and I've still worked, I just didn't act, because acting takes you on locations, it takes you away."

The Fast Five star also confirmed it was a mutual decision between her and her husband, adding, "It was almost a non-verbal agreement. It was like, 'Okay, he's gonna work and I'm gonna work. I'm just gonna work here.'"

In 2023, while chatting with GQ for his cover issue, Gosling also discussed his four-year hiatus from acting after welcoming his second child. He told the outlet, “I wanted to spend as much time as I could with them.”

Also, following his return for Netflix's The Gray Man in 2022, Gosling noted that his time off actually helped his career. He explained, “I treat it more like work now, and not like it’s, you know, therapy. It’s a job, and I think in a way that allows me to be better at it because there’s less interference.”
