Emma Watson Just Posted About That Massive ‘Harry Potter’ Reunion Mix-Up

Even if you're not a Potterhead, you've probably heard about the new HBO Max reunion special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.

While fans of the franchise have been flocking to watch the new special, a few viewers with sharp eyes pointed out a mistake that was made in the film. During a moment where the conversation revolved around Emma Watson (AKA Hermione Granger), a photo of the young actress flashed across the screen, where she was seen donning Mickey Mouse ears while eating breakfast. However, it turns out that this photo is not of Watson, but is actually a vintage snap of American Horror Story actress Emma Roberts.

Watson took to Instagram to make light of the mix-up, sharing the photo on her account and saying, “I was NOT this cute, @emmaroberts. #emmasistersforever.”

The mistake was first noted by TikTok users, like Dallas Ryan, who posted a video showing the mistake on the producers' part, and the fact that Roberts had first shared the image of herself back in 2012.

However, both actresses took the mistake in stride, and Roberts shared Watson's post on her Instagram Story, saying, “Haha! I don't believe that! @emmawatson.”

Fans loved the way Watson handled the mix-up too, and they showed their love in the comments, like one user who said, “Handled like a queen.” Another wrote, “Way to stay above the fray.” One even jokingly commented, “The emmaverse is real.”

The producers of the Harry Potter special quickly fixed the problem, putting out a message that said, “Well spotted Harry Potter fans! You brought an editing mistake of a mislabeled photograph to our attention. New version up shortly.”

We love seeing this interaction between the Emmas.
