If I had to pick my favorite royal photo of the week, it would have to be this newly released snap of Duchess Sophie being the ultimate fangirl at the 2024 Paris Olympics

In case you missed it, the Duchess of Edinburgh made a surprise appearance on day ten of the Olympic Games, where she watched Team GB compete against New Zealand in the Track Cycling competition.

A striking photo taken of the royal mom of two shows her jumping up from her seat and screaming as the women’s team won gold, securing Great Britain's first-ever Olympic medal in the Track Cycling event.

Duchess Sophie was photographed wearing an ERDEM ‘Roisin’ Floral-Print Midi Dress in purple and Penelope Chilvers High Mary Jane Leather Espadrilles in the color white.

Not only was this exciting moment captured on camera, but it was also documented on video too. On Monday, August, 5, the British royal family shared an emotional video of Duchess Sophie celebrating Team GB’s win on their official Instagram page. In the clip, the 59-year-old royal jumps up and hugs the person sitting next to her as Team GB wins gold. Other Team GB fans are standing right behind her, waving the national flag for the United Kingdom.

The caption read, “A huge congratulations to @emmafinucane_, @sophieecapewell and @katymarchant from your very proud Patron!”

So far, Duchess Sophie and Princess Anne are the only royal family members who have made an appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. But according to a new report, it appears that a certain royal prince may join Team GB fans on the sidelines. Per the Daily Express, Prince William and two of his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are expected to travel to France this week to attend the Games. Also, rumor has it that Kate Middleton, who is still undergoing treatment for cancer, wants to make the trip to Paris alongside her family.
