The monarch’s annual birthday parade is an occasion to look forward to every year. But this one felt particularly special: Not only did it mark King Charles’s second celebration as monarch, but it marked the return of Catherine, the Princess of Wales, to the spotlight. (She has notably been undergoing treatment for cancer and hasn’t been seen in an official capacity until now this year.)

Still, there was another royal who caught our eye immediately and felt like a bright spot in the London rain: Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh (and wife of Prince Edward).

She wore a lemon yellow dress from Beulah London and rode alongside her daughter, Lady Louise, in a carriage for the parade’s processional. Given the lovely pop of color, it was hard to miss her, TBQH.

But about that pop of color: Part of the reason it stood out was because it felt so reminiscent of a sartorial mantra dutifully practiced by the late Queen Elizabeth II. After all, it was her signature move to wear bright pastels to public and official royal events. The reasoning behind it? “I have to be seen to be believed,” royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith once attributed to the monarch. (An image is worth a thousand words, after all, and you don’t want someone as important as the queen getting lost in the crowd.)

That’s why Sophie’s choice of yellow felt so brilliant and fun for today’s proceedings. Not only is the style a classic and beloved Beulah London silhouette, it is incredibly easy to pick out in a crowd.

And there’s good news for those who love to emulate Sophie’s looks: The dress is still in stock and perfect for summer. (Snag it while you can.)
