Dua Lipa Debuts Totally New Hairdo (and Her New Boyfriend) at the Cannes Film Festival

Dua Lipa, 27, certainly made a splash at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The London-born singer arrived at the prestigious event sporting a totally new hairdo, and she also made her red carpet debut with boyfriend Romain Gavras, 41.

Early this morning, the “Break My Heart” singer posted a series of photos that were taken by Pierre Mouton at her hotel prior to the festival. In her caption, Lipa wrote, “Hier soir à Cannes avec mon cœur,” (which translates to: “Last night in Cannes with my sweetheart.”) The pics see Lipa snuggling up with Gavras and showing off her chic 'fit.

The pop star wore a gorgeous black gown from Celine for the event, and she was styled by Lorenzo Posocco. However, it was her hair that totally caught our attention.

The “Don't Start Now” singer worked with her frequent hairstylist, Rio Sreedharan, to achieve the look. While we usually see Lipa rocking a middle part, curtain bangs, or even a side-swept bang, we've never seen her sport a dramatic look quite like this. For Cannes, Lipa had long, wispy bangs hanging down the front of her face.

But that wasn't the only surprise Lipa had up her sleeve. She also decided to make her red carpet debut with her boyfriend, Gavras. The French director is known for shooting music videos like M.I.A.'s “Bad Girls,” and the Kanye West/Jay-Z cut, “No Church in the Wild.” This was the first event that the two have attended together.

According to Us Weekly, the pair have been linked since February, when they were spotted leaving a party together in London. Then, they were captured holding hands in Paris only a month later. Now, it seems Lipa is ready to share her love with the world.
