Demi Lovato Drops Emotional New Song ‘Anyone’ After 2020 Grammy Awards

If you loved Demi Lovato’s powerful performance at the 2020 Grammy Awards, then you’ll be pleased to know the never-before-heard song is now available for your listening pleasure.

Shortly after she performed at the 62nd annual ceremony, the 27-year-old singer released a brand-new single, titled “Anyone.” (For those who watched the awards show, it’s the same song that brought Lovato to tears.)

“Anyone” really hits home for Lovato fans, since it was written just days before her nearly fatal overdose in 2018. The lyrics detail her struggle with addition, like how she “confided in alcohol” and “told secrets ’til my voice was sore.” The chorus goes on to say, “Lord, is there anyone? I need someone. Anyone, please send me anyone.” (The full song is available on streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.)

In an interview with Zane Lowe’s podcast New Music Daily, Lovato revealed that her new music represents her journey. “I feel like I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long,” she said. “It’s only telling a fraction of my story, but it’s still a little bit, and it’s enough to kind of show the world where I’ve been.”

After her Grammys performance, Lovato thanked fans for their unconditional support in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“What an unbelievable night,” she wrote. “My first time back on stage in almost two years. So emotional for me. Thank you all for the love, support and for sharing this moment with me. I love you all.”

BRB, listening to “Anyone” on repeat.
