Dan Levy Sends Birthday Message to ‘Schitt's Creek’ Sister Annie Murphy on Instagram

Dan Levy already has one sister—Sarah—who actually co-starred with him on Schitt's Creek as Twyla Sands. However, when that comedy series first kicked off, Levy was ultimately gifted with another, *fictional* sister: Alexis (played by Annie Murphy). And it seems the two have remained real tight, even after the show saw its final episodes air in 2020.

Yesterday, Murphy celebrated her 35th birthday, and Levy made sure to mark the occasion with a loving and silly post on Instagram. The actor shared a throwback of himself and Murphy, where they are seen hugging on the set of Schitt's Creek. In the caption he joked, “My sis turns 21 today! Huge milestone.”

He added, “Proud of how much she’s accomplished in such a short time. Happy birthday, @annefrances! xo.”

The rare behind-the-scenes pic was enjoyed by fellow celebrities, like Levy's Happiest Season co-star, Mary Steenburgen, who commented, “Happy Birthday, lovely one!!!” Singer and television personality Carnie Wilson said, “Love the love.” Meanwhile, the official Schitt's Creek Instagram account left three yellow hearts in the comments.

Levy has always been very supportive of his co-star on social media. Back in June, the actor posted another behind-the-scenes pic of him and Murphy, in order to promote her new AMC series Kevin Can F**k Himself. In the caption, he said, “Lil sis has a big new show premiering today and I’m very proud of her. Go watch @annefrances shine in #kevincanfhimself on AMC+!”

Now, if you're like us, you're probably wondering if we'll ever get to see these two play siblings again. When asked if there might be a Schitt's Creek movie in the works, Levy told Us Weekly, “[There’s] no update on a Schitt’s Creek movie.” However, he did say he thought it was a “really good idea,” but he said for now they're “leaving it as is.”

We'll still be keeping our fingers crossed. Happy birthday, Annie!
