Clare Crawley Broke a Major ‘Bachelorette’ Rule Prior to Filming

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

We have a million questions after learning that Tayshia Adams is replacing Clare Crawley on The Bachelorette. Why did Crawley walk away from the show? Does she support her replacement? And finally, did Crawley really fall in love after a matter of days?

We don’t have exact answers, but there’s a good chance the ex-Bachelorette, 39, didn’t experience love at first sight based on this all-new evidence. Here’s what you need to know:

As it turns out, Crawley reportedly connected with a contestant prior to filming. (The suitor’s identity is still unknown.) When production began, she immediately hit it off with her virtual beau and gave him the First Impression Rose on night one.

Not wanting to lead anyone on, Crawley decided to quit The Bachelorette to pursue the mystery man, claiming she had already found love. ABC was apparently just as surprised as we were and scrambled to find a replacement. That’s when the network turned to Adams (who was already a potential candidate), and the rest is history.

A source confirmed the story to E! News, saying, “Everyone is under the impression they began communicating before filming. He got her first impression rose and that was basically that. She did not want to go through the motions of pretending to be interested in other men. She was done.”

Despite the believable spoilers, we have no doubt that ABC will hype up the drama to an obscene level. You’ve been warned.
