ICYMI: ABC just announced that Clare Crawley will lead season 16 of The Bachelorette.
If you’re wondering, Who on earth is Clare Crawley?, keep reading for everything you need to know about the 38-year-old star.
She’s a longtime Bachelor Nation alum. Crawley originally appeared on Juan Pablo Galavis’s season of The Bachelor, where she was the runner-up. She went on to star on seasons one and two of Bachelor in Paradise and even participated in Bachelor Winter Games. Long story short, she’s a natural in front of the camera.
Crawley currently works as a hairstylist in Sacramento, California. But she’s also a social media influencer. She has around 410,000 (and counting) followers on her personal Instagram account, where she regularly shares pics of her outdoor hobbies, including hiking, yoga and water sports. *Cue the adventurous dates*
Yes. After Bachelor Winter Games, Benoît Beauséjour-Savard popped the question to Crawley on national television, and she said, “Yes!” Although they called off the engagement a few months later, Beauséjour-Savard recently revealed that he thinks she’ll make a fantastic Bachelorette.
“Congratulations to this gem!!” he wrote on Instagram. “She will be an amazing Bachelorette. She is smart, fun, strong, knows what she wants and most importantly, she will call out the guys messing around!! Hell yeah!! Good Luck on your journey to find love @clarecrawley!! You will be the best #thebestbacheloretteever.”
There are mixed feelings. Some fans are happy that we don’t have to deal with another cast of twenty-something contestants who want to be social media famous. “Yesss! I [heart] that @BachelorABC is going back to it’s roots and choosing an ‘older’ bachelorette,” one user wrote.
Other fans feel like Crawley already had her shot. “Girl has had four chances. No one asked for that,” another wrote.
During her appearance on Good Morning America, Crawley revealed that she’s looking for a vulnerable relationship.
“I want a man that will take off his armor,” she said. “I want a man that is strong but is willing to take off the body armor, open themselves up and be vulnerable. I think that is some serious strength right there.”
