Tonight, the 77th annual Golden Globes are taking place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, but one of our favorite Hollywood actors won’t be in attendence—Christian Bale.
According to Variety, the actor is unable to make it to the annual event because he has come down with a bad case of the flu. Yuck.
The British actor, who lives in Los Angeles, was out of the country on vacation for the holidays when he first caught the illness. A source close to the actor said he was advised that he should not fly for medical reasons. And no flying means no Golden Globes.
Bale is nominated tonight for Best Actor in a Drama for his work as race car driver Ken Miles in Ford v Ferarri. He’s up against Antonio Banderas for Pain and Glory,
Adam Driver for Marriage Story, Joaquin Phoenix for Joker and Jonathan Pryce for The Two Popes.
