Chrissy Teigen is sending a not-so-subtle message to her haters, and I applaud her dedication to making fun of herself.
This week, the model, 38, posted a video on her Instagram page, featuring herself reenacting mean comments that people have said about her online. (Bonus: It includes a cameo by Teigen’s 8-year-old daughter, Luna.)
The video begins with the caption “mean IG comments IRL,” and it features Teigen reading the messages aloud in a nasty tone. “What kind of mother dresses like that?” she says. “Ozempic much?” She even corrects her own grammar, saying, “It’s ‘Wren and I,’ not ‘me and Wren.’ Keep working on yourself. You’re not done.” The best part? She doesn’t break character once.
Teigen is no stranger to trolling strangers and family on the internet—this includes her husband, John Legend. Last month, the singer, 45, took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago and performed a beautiful rendition of Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” with Sheila E.
Shortly after, Teigen revealed that Legend promised his family that he would tug on his ear during the performance…and he didn’t do it.
The model shared a photo of their text exchange on her Instagram Story. Teigen wrote, “Not a single ear was tugged.” Legend responded, “Oh my god I completely lost it.” His wife jokingly added, “Too bad it won’t matter to our children.”
