By now, we’ve seen Charles Spencer (aka Princess Diana’s younger brother) share many throwback photos of family members and distant ancestors. From posting a photo of his late father with his military buddies to sharing a sketch of a lookalike relative, the 9th Earl Spencer has never been shy about revealing interesting glimpses of his family history.
This past Saturday, Spencer, 59, went on Instagram to dedicate a heartfelt tribute to his mother, Frances Shand Kydd, on what would have been her 88th birthday. On January 20, the British author shared a grainy black-and-white photo on his IG Story.
The childhood throwback shows a younger Spencer sitting on a park swing with his mom standing right above him. Meanwhile, per the Daily Mail, Spencer and Diana’s older sister, Lady Elizabeth Sarah Lavinia McCorquodale, is beaming next to the pair. He captioned the pic, “Today would have been my mother’s 88th birthday.”
