Charles Spencer just surprised us with another rare baby photo of Princess Diana and it might be the sweetest one yet. The 59-year-old author shared a post on Instagram featuring old newspaper clippings of his parents, along with a glimpse of baby Di that made me smile.
Princess Diana’s Brother Just Shared a Rare Baby Photo of His Sister—and It Made Me Do a Double Take
Such a striking resemblance
In the IG post, I notice two large newspaper clips. The first one has the headline, "Lord and Lady Althrop's third daughter christened." I zoomed in (so you don't have to) and discovered a lengthy article about Princess Diana's baptism. I'm paraphrasing, but the piece describes eight-week-old Diana Frances was christened at Sandringham church. There were a few people in attendance including her godparents (who were friends of the family) and other family members.
The photo itself had me do a double take. Their mother is a spitting image of Princess Diana, while the father definitely looks like Charles. The second photo with just Lady Althorp and Princess Di proves my point again. The genes were strong with this family.
Now, this isn't the first time that Spencer gifted us with old throwbacks of his family. Back in April, he shared a rare photograph of him and Princess Diana's first day of school. One follower even suggested they look like a young Princess Charlotte and Prince George—and now I can't unsee it.
He captioned the post, "My first day of school, in September 1969: my father took this photograph of me and my sister, Diana, just before he drove us to Silfield, a really lovely primary school in King's Lynn, Norfolk. The headmistress was Miss Jean Lowe, a warm and thoughtful lady who loved her boys and girls."
Honestly, this whole summer Spencer has been sharing more and more old photos of his family. In June, he honored his late mother, and posted a black-and-white image of her in the '60s. Once again, I couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance between her and Princess Diana. One commenter said it best: "I see your sisters in your mother. Treasure the memories."
Here's to more sweet throwbacks from Spencer!
