Princess Diana’s Brother Charles Spencer Gives Rare Glimpse of Daughter Doing Easter Egg Hunt...on Horseback

On Easter Sunday, Princess Diana’s younger brother, Charles Spencer, surprised his followers on Instagram with a video that shows the outside of his massive Althorp estate (aka the royal residence that belongs to the Spencer family). Not only that, but we also got an extremely rare cameo from his youngest daughter, Charlotte Diana.

On March 31, the 9th Earl Spencer posted the festive clip on his personal account. While behind the camera, the 59-year-old author films his 11-year-old daughter embarking on an Easter egg hunt. 

As she rides on horseback, she looks around the Althorp estate for any hidden Easter eggs. Donning a pair of comfy pajama bottoms, Charlotte looks back at the camera and says, “I’m glad I didn't go bareback.” The clip shows the pre-teen finding eggs hidden behind columns next to the neatly cut grass.

Charles Spencer wrote in the caption, “Easter egg hunt, Althorp style…. And, yes, my daughter is in her pajamas. Happy Easter to you all!#easterbunny #eastereggs #eastertraditions #eastertreats #familytradition #horsebackadventures #horselover #horsegirl.”

If you’ve been following the A Very Private School author, then you’ve probably noticed that he rarely shares photos or videos of his seven children on social media. 

But he also made an exception earlier this month when he posted a candid photo of himself and his 18-year-old daughter, Lady Lara Spencer, who attended his book launch event. While they were all smiles, the father-daughter duo had themselves a fashion twin moment with their coordinating black ensembles.
