Princess Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, is no stranger to posting family throwbacks. He's given us a childhood pic of his royal sister. He's shared a vintage shot of his and Diana's grandfather. And now, we've gotten a head-turning color image of their parents from the 1960s—and nearly every fan is pointing out the same exact thing.
Today, Spencer shared an image of his folks on Instagram. He captioned the post, "My parents, in the early ‘60s."
He continued, "For many years, they were passionately in love: I’ve never seen love letters so beautiful and spontaneous."
And I don't think royal fans such as myself had to look very hard at the image to notice the obvious: Their father looks just like Charles and their mother looks just like Diana.
Fans said as much throughout the comments section of the post. One follower said, "Definitely strong family resemblance to both your parents. I see Princess Diana in your Mother." Another wrote, "Oh my goodness. I see the resemblance between you and your father in this one!" And yet another said, "What a beautiful photo. And you look so much like your dad." Needless to say, plenty of similar comments were shared.
As I mentioned, Spencer has posted loads of family throwbacks before, including another image where the striking resemblance to his father was on full display.
Last month, Spencer shared a pic of his dad. The image, a black-and-white photo of John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, shows him sitting at a desk, pen in hand. He looks sophisticated in a dark three piece suit and tie and sports a light-colored pocket square and watch.
For this caption, Spencer wrote, "I’d never seen this photograph of my father before today. I love him being captured pen-in-hand - he had beautiful handwriting: measured and handsome, in dark blue ink. A very evocative image."
Yet in this case, followers not only pointed out Spencer's resemblance to his dad, but also Prince William's, Prince Harry's and Prince George's.
