Princess Diana’s Brother Shared a Throwback of Their Grandfather on His 21st Birthday

When it comes to posting throwback photos, Princess Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, takes the cake. The 9th Earl Spencer regularly uses his Instagram account to share rare photos of his family, as well as their longstanding connection to the royals. In his latest post, the earl dug up a snap of his grandfather, Albert Edward John Spencer (aka Jack Spencer), that was taken to honor his 21st birthday back in 1913.

In the caption of the photo, Charles wrote, “My grandfather Jack Spencer on his horse, on the front lawn of Althorp, in May 1913—a photograph to mark his turning 21.”

The photo sees the 7th Earl Spencer sporting a black coat and a top hat as he sits atop a horse, looking somewhat contemplative as he stares straight ahead.

This is certainly not the first time Charles has shared a throwback of a family member. Just recently, he posted an image of an old newspaper clipping featuring his immediate family members, including himself and Princess Diana as kids. He has also recently shared a photo of his grandmother, Cynthia Spencer, with Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

If the background of this latest pic looks familiar, it's because Althorp is the earl's current residence, and he often posts shots of the estate and its surrounding nature to his account. Last month, he uploaded a photo of his home and wrote, “Perfect morning light on the front of the house this morning.”

We never get tired of seeing these throwbacks.
