In recent years, Céline Dion, 55, has been very open about her ongoing battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, which has impacted her ability to sing and perform onstage. And ever since she revealed her medical diagnosis in December 2022, the musician has taken a step back from the spotlight. But now, the “All By Myself” singer is ready to tell more of her story in an upcoming documentary titled I Am: Céline Dion.

Earlier this week, Dion shared the exciting news on her Instagram account. Alongside a black-and-white photo of herself, the award-winning singer wrote in the caption, “Get ready! [film camera emoji] I Am: Celine Dion, a documentary directed by Oscar-nominated Irene Taylor, will be released globally on @primevideo.”

The rest of the caption included a heartwarming message from Dion to her many fans who have shown her support throughout the past few years. “This last couple of years has been such a challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with and manage it, but not to let it define me,” the note started.

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer added, “As the road to resuming my performing career continues, I have realized how much I have missed it, of being able to see my fans. During this absence, I decided I wanted to document this part of my life, to try to raise awareness of this little-known condition, to help others who share this diagnosis.”

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS for short) is a rare neurological disorder that causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms.

So far, we know the doc will be released on Prime Video, however, a release date for the documentary has yet to be confirmed. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any new info.
