Céline Dion, better known as the Queen of Power Ballads, recently made her grand return to the stage at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony. Though this marked her first live performance after being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in 2022, the Canadian songstress, 56, dazzled in a sparkly Dior dress and blew fans away (me included) with her stunning rendition of Edith Piaf's "Hymne à L'amour." But little did I know that the iconic singer also broke a huge streaming record mere days before her performance.

On June 25, the singer's eye-opening documentary, I Am: Céline Dion, was released on Prime Video, and it has since become the streaming service's biggest documentary ever, according to Deadline. In addition, Dion's music catalog streams went up by 33 percent worldwide.

Irene Taylor, who directed the documentary, told Deadline, “This film was born out of extraordinary trust. Céline let me in at a time when most would push away. The world’s response is a testament to authenticity and non-fiction storytelling, and Amazon’s deep commitment to make Céline’s voice heard once again.”

In case you've yet to watch the tell-all documentary, it chronicles Dion's childhood, her career beginnings in Québec and her rise to fame. The singer also gets candid about her current battle with stiff-person syndrome—a rare neurological disorder that causes muscular rigidity and stiffness.

Brianna Oh, the head of documentary features at Amazon MGM Studios, told Deadline, “Irene Taylor and the talented teams at Vermilion Films, Les Productions, and Sony Music beautifully captured the deeply present-tense story of Céline Dion in a truly remarkable wa. We’re honored to have been trusted with sharing this incredible documentary and could not be more thrilled with the enthusiastic response from Céline Dion fans and Prime Video audiences around the world.”

The singer has since received an outpouring of encouraging messages from fans who've seen the emotional documentary. On Instagram, one person wrote, "This is the most real and intimate documentary I have ever seen. Having the courage to show all the world what you are going through is not weakness, it's strength." Another added, "Your incredible voice and powerful presence have touched the hearts of millions around the world. Through your music, you've given us moments of joy, comfort, and inspiration. We deeply admire your strength and courage in sharing such a sensitive part of your life with us."

Following her long-anticipated comeback at this year's Olympics opening ceremony, Dion took to Instagram to share her gratitude and commend the athletes. She wrote, "I’m honored to have performed tonight for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favorite cities!"

Dion continued, "Most of all, I’m so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance. All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you! You should all be so proud. We know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused. Keep going. My heart is with you!"

Major congrats to Céline on her successful documentary and unforgettable comeback.
