It's always such a treat when we get to peek into the personal lives of actors, musicians, comedians, royals and the like. Just this week, the internet was gifted a vintage photograph of Catherine Zeta-Jones's parents David and Patricia Jones. The Wednesday actress posted to Instagram with side-by-side photos of her mother and father and then her and her father. And wouldn't you know, the resemblance is uncanny.

In the post, Zeta-Jones shares a black-and-white photograph of her mother Patricia sitting on husband David's lap. The pair are smiling for a photographer while David drinks Champagne from a coup glass, the bottle sat right in front of the happy couple. Patricia wears what looks to be a wrap dress in a groovy '60s-style floral pattern. David wears a light colored sweater with a V-slit in the center and dark trim around the neck and cuffs. His hair seems to be worn short and flat with some sideburns, also embodying the trends of the time.
Next to this photo is a near identical black-and-white one. But instead of Patricia sitting on David's lap, it's the one and only Catherine, posing with her father. The Prodigal Son star smiles for the camera with her hands in her lap, looking very demure. She's sporting a caftan-esque top with metallic beaded trim, a pair of teardrop-shaped earrings, a slicked back bun and signature dark lip that remind us of her time as Morticia Addams. Her father wears the same smile as his older photo, but this time he's rocking a floral patterned Hawaiian-style shirt.
Above her parents' photo, Zeta-Jones adds a caption: 'Dad with my Mam,' and adds, 'Dad with me,' above her own, both written in white text. The actress added a caption to the post as well, "Happy Birthday Dad! I love you with all my heart [heart emoji]"
What's particularly striking about the post is how much Zeta-Jones resembles her mother. It can be most obviously seen in the eyes, but commenters were quick to point out the likeness. One person said, "Mum's eyes dad's nose lovely" with an emoji. Another said, "No wonder you are so beautiful!" and a third replied saying, "You are a time traveller, Catherine!"
Earlier this year, Zeta-Jones also posted a solo throwback photo of her mother in celebration of her mom's birthday. In the photo, Patricia wears a loose long-sleeved V-neck top and has her hair piled up in a half-up-half-down look a la Amy Winehouse with a bit less volume. She captioned the post saying, "Happy American Mother’s Day Mam! Just another day to say I love you my Queen [black heart emoji]."
It's wonderful to see so much love on Zeta-Jones's profile and we can only hope she'll be sharing many more family photos in the future.
