It was a big weekend for Carrie Underwood. Not only did she make her first documented mom joke, but she was also christened with a new nickname courtesy of her witty 4-year-old son, Isaiah.
It all started when the 36-year-old Grammy winner tested out her new comedy act (J.K., she’s sticking to singing) on Instagram Saturday. She shared a post-workout selfie and paired it with what she called a “total mom joke” and some words of encouragement to fellow parents.
“When your face matches your shirt = you had a good workout! Unless your shirt is blue…then maybe you should be concerned! (sorry, total mom joke),” Underwood wrote. Hardee-har-har, Carrie.
She kept the jokes flowing and went on to write, “I took these pics after my gym sesh yesterday (today I’m cleaning this mess of a house, which I totally consider to be my Saturday workout). This is one of my favorite new outfits…I especially love the top because this is basically my motto these days!”
Underwood ended her comedy set with a little bit of parenting motivation, writing, “Sending out lots of weekend [love] to you all! May we all get lots of stuff done and make a little time for ourselves in there, too!”
The following day, Underwood shared via Twitter that she passed on her comedy chops to her eldest son, Isaiah.
“My own kid just called me ‘Carefree Underwear.’ This is basically elementary school all over again,” she wrote.
Several members of Bachelor Nation chimed in, with Colton Underwood replying that his was “Cotton Underwear” and Kaitlyn Bristowe tweeting, “Try Kaitlyn No-breastowes.”
So there you have it: Kids are harsh and Isaiah is so ready to rule the elementary school playground with his clever puns.
