Grab your dancing shoes and get ready to rumba, Carmen: Back to Havana, an immersive dance experience is coming to New York City.
Inspired by the 1950s jet-set haven of Havana’s infamous Tropicana Club, audiences will experience Carmen’s last night as it unfolds with Don Jose and his rival Escamillo.
The event, described as an ideal blend of theater and nightlife, includes a vibrant 360-degree spectacle with live music and dance and invites guests to dress on theme in 1950s Havana club scene attire. That means no jeans, T-shirts or sneakers permitted, according to the official website (sorry, Sleep No More—fedoras sound way more fun than masks).
The classic story of love and betrayal plays select dates between today and March 16th at Public Arts.
