Just because Camilla Parker Bowles is married to King Charles doesn’t mean she’s too cool for school reality TV.
Queen Consort Camilla Makes Special Cameo on This Popular Reality Show
The queen consort made an appearance on a recent episode of the U.K.’s Antiques Roadshow, a series where people present appraisers with vintage items that may hold value. (The installment aired on Sunday, March 5.) Bowles brought not one, but two personal belongings for the collectors to examine.
The first item was a Cornish silver snuffbox from the Royal Collection. The second was a copy of Thomas Gray’s Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, which was marked with Bowles’s commentary in the binding.
Later in the episode, the queen consort joined TV personality Fiona Bruce for a game of “Guess the Mystery Object,” where they tried to identify the purpose of three random items. According to Bruce, Bowles was a natural in front of the camera.
“The queen consort was just terrific fun,” she said (per Radio Times). “She put everyone at ease and was keen to take part in the programme and chat to everyone. The members of the public that came along with their items that day got a bit more than they bargained for as they had no idea the queen consort was coming!”
Bruce continued, “Her Majesty got stuck into our Antiques Roadshow games, though ‘Guess the Mystery Object’ had us both stumped.”
