Britney Spears Might Be Returning to Music After All

Well, it looks like Britney Spears isn't ready to leave the music industry just yet.

According to a report from Page Six, a source close to Spears said that the singer “wants to make music and perform again,” but it’s “not her top priority right now and hasn’t been for a while.”

The source added, “It’s never been her intention to step away from her career altogether. People around Britney spoke for her and said she was retiring, but they were putting words in her mouth. The only thing she’s said is that she would not work again under her father’s control, but now that he’s out as her conservator, she’s willing and even excited to get back to it one day.”

Spears spoke on the matter back in October, when she made a post discussing her conservatorship and her space from the music industry, saying, “For so many years I was always told if I succeeded at things, it could end...and it never did!!! I worked so hard but now that it's here and getting closer and closer to ending I'm very happy but there's a lot of things that scare me...In the meantime...I’m staying clear of the business which is all I’ve ever known my whole life...which is why this is so very confusing for me.”

However, on Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny ruled in favor of Spears, terminating her conservatorship and placing her estate back under her control.

With this major legal win, Spears may decide to turn back to music after all, but it likely won't be anytime soon. The “Toxic” singer just got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari, back in September, so she will likely enjoy her newly married life before she ever returns to music.

We'll be keeping our fingers crossed, though.
